TORONTO—Skylink, a provider of DIY home safety solutions, recently introduced an alarm system kit that allows end users to secure and monitor their homes, according to a news release from the company.
The SkylinkNet Alarm System Kit is controlled by an Internet Hub and includes a motion sensor, keychain remote, and two door window sensors. An app integrated with the system allows users to have complete remote control of the solution through iOS- and Android-compatible devices. Read more

The system has no monthly fees like some big name alarm systems. The system can work with up to 100 different sensors and 10 wireless security cameras. The Skylink net offers complete tracking of all entries into and out of the home and will send push notifications to users if an alarm has been tripped. It also has a battery backup in case of a blackout. The system is fully usable from the app, but as a backup, or for the less technologically inclined, there is also a key fob remote. Read more

Users connect the Hub to a wireless router, and the system will coordinate the activities of all receivers and sensors through an iOS or Android smartphone app. Customers can arm and disarm the alarm system from anywhere, and receive a push notification if the door or window sensor detects motion.
